Quick Ruling: a neutral opinion for $5.67

A Quick Ruling is a nonbinding AI opinion on an everyday disagreement. You pay $5.67 and invite the other side. They reply for free. Both of you can see the same written result; the other side pays $5.67 only if they want to view it. It is not arbitration, not an Award, and no one is required to follow it.

Good for

  • A roommate and a security deposit split
  • A refund argument with a seller or buyer
  • Whether a freelancer’s delivery matched the brief
  • A group bill, a shared purchase, a bet between friends
  • Any disagreement where both sides mostly want a fair, neutral read

How it works

  1. 01

    Describe the disagreement

What happened, what you think is fair, and why.

  2. 02

Pay $5.67 and invite the other side

They get a link to give their side.

  3. 03

    They reply for free

Two accounts produce a better opinion than one. If they do not reply within seven days, you receive a one-sided opinion based only on your account. They can still reply for 30 days after that, and a two-sided opinion then replaces it. Silence is not a finding against them.

  4. 04

    Get the written opinion

A neutral AI opinion on the disagreement. The other side pays $5.67 to view the same result.

  5. 05

    Decide what to do

Use it to settle, or open a separate binding case if you need a decision that sticks.

What a Quick Ruling is not

People’s Court takes the line between informal and binding seriously, so here it is plainly: a Quick Ruling is a nonbinding AI opinion only. It is not arbitration and not an Award. There is no escrow, execution, precedent, or human appeal. It cannot be converted into a binding Award or binding case. Parties must open a new binding case.

Need a decision that sticks?

Binding arbitration at People’s Court costs 5.67% of the amount in dispute ($56.70 on $1,000), runs on a fixed written schedule, and ends with a signed Award that a court can confirm. See how Awards are enforced and resolving a contract dispute without court.

Common questions

What is a Quick Ruling?

A Quick Ruling is a nonbinding AI opinion for an everyday disagreement. The requester pays $5.67 and invites the other side. Replying is free, and the other side pays $5.67 only to view the same result.

Is a Quick Ruling binding?

No. It is not arbitration and not an Award. There is no escrow, execution, precedent, or human appeal, and no one is obligated to follow it.

Can a Quick Ruling be turned into a binding case?

No. If you want a binding decision, both sides open a new binding case at People’s Court. The Quick Ruling does not carry over.

What if the other side doesn’t reply?

If the other side does not reply within seven days, the requester receives a one-sided nonbinding opinion based only on the requester’s account. Silence is not a finding against the other side. The other side can still reply for 30 days after that, at no cost, and a two-sided opinion then replaces the one-sided one. Viewing the opinion still costs $5.67.

When should I use binding arbitration instead?

When real money or obligations are at stake and you need a result the other side must follow. AI-only arbitration costs 5.67% of the amount in dispute, and the Award can be confirmed in court.
